Shantha Venugopal

Shantha Tara Venugopal is an undergraduate research assistant with the Local Innovation Group. She is conducting primary and secondary research to support an evaluation of a complex agricultural transformation initiative in Bihar, India that is being implemented in partnership with the state government, the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and the World Bank. Conducting research remotely over the course of the pandemic, her focus has been on evaluating the efficiency of the initiative’s Farmer Producer Organizations and the benefits derived by smallholder farmers. She hopes to use this experience to deepen her understanding of foreign aid and effective policy design in developing regions.  

Shantha is a senior at Wellesley College, majoring in International Relations-Political Science and minoring in Peace and Justice Studies. She hopes to pursue a career in the field of research and policymaking.
